Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 14, 2026
Memogrove is a vocabulary-learning app in pre-launch. This page is mostly about the waitlist: what we collect when you join, why, who processes it, and how to get it removed. The short version: we collect your email so we can tell you when Memogrove opens. We don't sell your data. You can leave the list at any time.
What we collect
When you join the waitlist, we collect:
- Your email address — so we can write to you.
- The languages you want to learn — optional; they only help us decide what to prepare first.
- When you joined, and which version of the signup text you agreed to — our proof that you asked us to email you.
We also record:
- Standard server logs. Our hosting provider keeps basic technical data, such as the time of a request and the IP address it came from, to keep the site running and secure.
- Server-side analytics events — basic records such as "someone joined the waitlist" (no browsing history). These go to PostHog's EU cloud (eu.i.posthog.com) and are linked to your waitlist email so that events and emails stay in sync.
We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies on this site.
Why we use it
We email you only about Memogrove: to confirm your signup, to share launch news, and to send what you asked for. The legal basis is your consent — you give it when you join the waitlist. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link, and we stop writing the moment you use it.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your data and don't share it with anyone except the providers we need to run this site:
- Cloudflare — hosting, database storage, and email routing. The contact address on this page is an alias handled by Cloudflare Email Routing.
- PostHog — product analytics and the waitlist email system (PostHog Workflows), with data stored in PostHog's EU cloud in Frankfurt.
- Brevo — a backup delivery service for waitlist emails, used only if the primary one fails.
These providers act on our instructions. PostHog stores data in the EU; the small amount of US-based support its subprocessors provide is covered by EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep your waitlist entry while the waitlist operates — through launch and the messages that follow. If you unsubscribe, we stop emailing you. We keep your address on a suppression list so we don't contact you by mistake, and we keep the record of your consent (what you agreed to, and when) for as long as we may need it as proof. You can ask us to delete everything instead — see below.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, and you can withdraw your consent at any time — unsubscribing is the fastest way. Write to privacy@memogrove.app and we'll take care of it.
If you're in the EU or the UK, these rights come from the GDPR, and you can also complain to your local data-protection authority. Wherever you live, we'll honor these requests.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of the page. If the change matters and you're still on the waitlist, we'll email you about it.
